I was playing around with him last night. This figure from figma is so well made. His clothes are malleable so they bend with him! He comes with five sets of hands and one extra to hold his keyboard/guitar. I'm so glad I picked him up from Otakon <3 ...which is what reminded me. I can't believe summer is almost over ;A; I'm sure people near the equator don't have this problem =3= The weather didn't even get hot enough to go to the beach. *sigh~* nothing I could do other than wait for next year. Plus, in the meantime, I can always cheer myself up with this video~

Technically muku's not part of my collection since I wasn't able to sell him before...

I'm sure you notice the pretty doll furniture. No, I didn't spend more money on furniture. I borrowed my little cousin's sylvania family collection :D These were taken back in the winter. Her room was so cold I was freezing my butt off, but I wasn't complaining. Her furniture are so cute!

Hikaru & Sai doujinshi

I was digging around my old pile of Hikaru no Go anthologies when I found this short but well drawn story. Five years ago, I couldn't read Japanese too well. Now, I'm still not that good but it's a lot easier so, since this story seemed interesting, I decided to translate it. Turns out I was right. The story is pretty interesting ;) Enjoy.

I was watching a special 'Memories of HnG' dvd recently. I wanted to see if my dvd player played Japanese region discs and happened to pick up that disc. So I ended up watching a half hour recap of the entire show. All the best parts of course. And if you've seen HnG before, you'll know that the best parts were phenomenal ;) In short I had fun. Then it got up the part where Sai leaves. Oh gosh, even though I knew what would happen, that scene still made me cry ;_; It's because of what Sai says at the end. 'It was fun, Hikaru' ;A; Even though Sai had been feeling so angry about his fate, disappointed in his role as a stepping stone, and jealous of Hikaru, he still could think of something good to say to his protege before leaving. It was just too touching ;~; And the music that was playing in the background ;A; ;A; ;A;

So that's why I was digging through my HnG doujinshi pile :3

This was scanned before, raw, as an anthology. Hope you guys won't mind seeing it again, this time in English :D

The art style reminds me of digimon XD but the story is nice...I want to say deep but I dunno what everybody's idea of 'deep' is ^^; Also...my English feels kinda wonky tonight...(must be all that good music on kawaii radio^^bbbb) Hope the dialog came out right. It was really good and deep in Japanese. Let's not lose any of the goodness in the translation...And I did this without ruka and final so it's back to sucky typesetting, no sfx, and uncleaned whoopdeedoo~

Teehee, that profile pic always makes me smile^^ Hibari must be thinking of Tsuna that way...as a human form hibirdie =w= So cute, so cute! Oh yeah, I want to read more from this doujinka, but haven't seen any of her other works ;~;

Persona the anime

Recently, I finally finished the Persona anime. People(animesuki) were trashing it because of the ending. I can't completely disagree with them. The ending wasn't that great because it was a bit confusing, but, mostly for me, it just didn't strike my heartstrings as much as some other great parts of the series(say the last part on Kanaru ;_;) Nevertheless, this anime earned a spot in my heart because it really made me cry at several intervals ;A; There wasn't anything special about the story, but I guess the style + the animation + music + the circumstances just made it easy to get sucked into(the sad parts).

...I want to watch another anime like it.

Before I had my deluge of Reborn doujin, I used to read that over and over again, which eventually prompted me to scanlate it and bravely stick it up on aarinfantasy. And that's when it all began, my wild scanlating behavior :3

Summer is about Camping!

My bro and I dragged a couple of our younger cousins to the mountains. There we set up camp and had a grand dandy time.

When ppl mention camping, they also say it's roughing it out. Somehow I can't quite agree with that. Not when you pack your cooler full of food XD

Warning: Pictures of (nothing but) food ahead

oh delicious sausage. You were seasoned so well. I will never forget your taste =w= Firewood really makes a difference on the flavor of food. In my world, it kinda goes like this Firewood > Charcoal > Propane

Chicken wings...fresh from the farms nearby. They're a hassle to cook. Must maneuver it so it cooks on every side. Here I'm trying to hold it between the two logs so it cooks on both sides at the same time :D

Then on Saturday, we headed out to the farmer's market because one cooler full of food was hardly enough to feed four people :D

Got this jam from the market. This is the best tasting jam I ever had seriously. It's got that sweetness that's not too sweet but just tastes very pleasant. We devoured it within minutes of opening it. And next to it is the honeybear, also made local. This bear is the real deal people. You know how supermarket honeybears give this weak thin liquid? This honey came out thick with a sandy texture. And the taste was brilliant *w*

I needed to give them their own picture because these two brothers did all our marinating. Good job guys!

Also needed to take a pic of this because it's such a good soap. It cleans well and isn't too harsh on the hands. Plus it's biodegradable so it's okay to use outdoors! ...okay I'm starting to sound like a commercial.

This brand of marshmallows really worked for me. I've tried many brands before but this one's the best. I couldn't stop toasting them. ...and of course I caught them on fire several times...marshmallows make great fireballs. And behind that is a baguette that disappeared along with the jam =w=

Okay, enough with the food pictures. Camping isn't only about food *tongue is currently lodged in cheek* Don't worry about our clogged arteries though. The nearest restroom was a 10 min walk away so each time we went it was a hike. And after the first night, we went canoing. You know, I always wondered why there's a rowing machine in fitness gyms. They never really gave me a good workout. But now I understand. The real thing means business.

...I also tried fishing while we were on the canoes. It's pretty hard because turns out the fishing rod has quite a few mechanics. It's not as simple as cast and throw. I finally got the hook out into the water and it keeps floating back towards the boat. Very disappointing but it's kinda my fault for underestimating the sport. And my cousin was saddened that there was no grilled fish for dinner, lol XD

If camping was just about the food and the exercise outdoors then that would be quite boring. The place we stayed at was sorta an animal farm and campsite mixed into one. So we had a dandy good time staring at the livestock. ...hey, we are city people so we rarely get to see this sort of stuff.

Goats...they had an attitude problem...but then I was picking grass from the floor and pretending it was food for them.

BUNNIES! They were just roaming free around the place, as are most of the animals on this campsite. My little cousin and I spent a good few minutes just watching them eat grass. They are so cute!!

While we were snapping our cameras away, we were also inching closer and closer. No, we weren't thinking of cooking them. Never even crossed our minds. The chickens on the other hand...

This cat was so elegant and playful at the same time. I picked up a feather(lotsa ducks around) from the floor and it batted it away so cutely with its paw. You can tell I really want a cat^^

Duckies! or ducklings. The older gang are kept in a separate pen cause the older ones like to form cliques. They'll pick on the ducklings D:

I think this is a chick. It's got so much fluff, even it's feet are covered in it.

That's the chicken house. It always looks so crowded. At night when they all go inside to sleep, there's always one or two stuck outside the entrance and the ones inside are always bumping them off the ledge XD

This doggy is so cute. It lives next to the chickens and roosters, probably for a long time because it developed this howl that sounds unmistakably like a cockadoodle.

It's a goose, a dog, and a rabbit. Very interesting combination.

Quackers!! They really shake their butts when they walk and they can't stop quacking XD

They must have sensed my laughing at them because they suddenly fled. And yes, they do run in a straight single line. Silly quackers.

Bunny just lied there and ignored all the quackers passing by. Doggy-chan went along with them.

The incredible edible egg! Fresh from those chickens' butts. They do taste different from regular eggs but I don't really know how to describe it. When you crack it open though it looks very different. It's a lot more delicate with a lot less membrane. I couldn't make my sunny side up because the yolk kept popping :(

Below you will find pics of some of the many roosters we encountered.

So who wins the beauty pageant? Each of these were located in a different area and kept their own pack of chickens. Roosters are such pimps.

So we all know roosters call at daybreak. Well, these roosters do it all day. So from sunrise to sundown we kept hearing them and the doggy's rooster-like howl. I couldn't stop laughing whenever I hear them. lol, chickens XD

That's the scene of our breakfast. We bought corn at the farm market. Why do fresh things taste so delicious. There it is boiling in the pot. To the left, that's our rock griddle. It's as simple as it sounds. We scrubbed down a rock, stuck firewood underneath it, and we had ourselves a griddle. Seriously though. I've seen on travel shows. Stone cooked food is a delicacy somewhere. It gave our bacon such a rich flavor =w=

On the morning that we left, it started raining while we were cooking breakfast. We just covered the fire with a table cloth and kept on cooking. The rain got bigger but apparently breakfast was more important to us than getting wet XD

Gosh, it was such a fun trip, except for the getting wet part. Next time I'll remember to buy a gazebo to cover the fire pit. I can't wait to go back next year~

Hot Dog Eating Contest!

It was gonna rain and thank god it didn't :D I went to see Nathan's International Hot Dog Eating Contest today <3 Held down at Coney Island, right in front of Nathan's first branch. It wasn't easy finding a good spot, but I got there 3 hours early. It's my advantage for living in Brooklyn^^

The highest records - Female 39 Male 66. Let's see if this will go up after today^^

So this was how it worked. Stage was set up in front of Nathan's shop. Right in front of the stage was a trampoline(will explain later) Surrounding the trampoline were all these people. Now these people were special, maybe family of Nathan's or friends of the press, but they had their own fenced in area, which took up the entire length of the stage, while us commoners had to look from the sides. Nevertheless, this was the closest I was able to go.

>:( three hours early for nothing... On stage that's Badlands Booker(wow I can't remember the name correctly), one of the contestants, singing a song called 'Eat It Up'. Of course I was laughing my head off XD

And right behind the special people were all this equipment. So there was really no way to look at it from the center...unless if you're special D:< You bet, I was pissed.

Mr. Shea~ Our announcer and host. I love this guy~ Among the words that came right from his mouth were, 'If Kobayashi were to sire a child with Sonya Thomas, that child would become the greatest champion eater in the world. But too bad since Kobayashi and Sonya hate each other'. XD

This is what the trampoline was for. Dang it was hard taking pictures with a slow camera and the target jumping up and down. A nice little performance to kill the time :3

And somebody went on stage to propose to his girlfriend, awwwww. It doesn't end there >:D Mr. Shea went online beforehand and got himself certified as a minister. You guessed it, he pronounced them husband and wife right then and there. Getting married at a hot dog eating contest...how romantic :3

Then the owner of Nathan's donated one hundred thousand hot dogs to the NYC Food Bank. ...that's right, it's not money. He donated actual hot dogs. That's 100,000 franks and buns for the poor XD

A meat eating contest between kids~! Dawww

Then there's something called 'Rookie of the Year'. All the new participants were called out and the most interesting one gets a prize^^ Girl who won is a student from China. Mr. Shea said she left a career in Science to enter this contest. My dad who reads the Chinese newspaper said she's a nurse back home^^ Just look at her flat tummy! To be able to eat at this contest, she must have beaten a lot of ppl in the preliminaries. Just goes to show you can't judge based on appearance^^ But then Kobayashi is pretty thin too.

Mr. Shea commented that while guys will not feel much when looking at him, we ladies will(indeed~) Then this guy behind me in the crowd said, 'he just makes guys feel hungry when looking at him' lol XD

And we begin...

Signs are for Kobayashi and Chestnut, 05 and 06 respectively(you can't really see 05^^) This happened only in a matter of minutes

May I just comment here that Kobayashi has a very cute way of eating. He bends down to jam his mouth full of hot dog then stands up straight and swallows with a cute nod of his head. So CUTE~&hearts;

So Chestnut was ahead all along. This is the turning point. Kobayashi caught up and now they tie with 36 hot dogs each

It ends! 10 minutes are up.

Mr. Shea: It's a what?! A tie?!!

Bummer, no? Kobayashi just leans casually while Mr. Shea figures out what should be done. Why are you so cute, Kobayashi~?

I have caught Kobayashi unceremoniously wiping his mouth with his sleeve. Yeah, I feel like a stalker now :3

So we have a tie. Doesn't mean there's no way around it. It's time for some OT! Each guy gets 5 hot dogs. Whoever finishes first wins! GO!!

And Chestnut wins! Kobayashi just stuffed in his fifth hot dog there. Damn it was so close I thought they would tie again XD Forget Sonya, if Chestnut and Kobayashi have a child together, that kid would be an eating monster.

And once again, the mustard belt is safe with us this year. USA! USA!

Picnic ♥ ...well sorta...

I've always wanted to find a way to get both pineapple and tuna into the same dish(for obvious reasons XD) Today my cousin and I decided to have a picnic at the park and both of us decided to make something, so I took the opportunity to try creating that dish. We were about to go when my bro kindly told us there would be thunderstorms at 2pm. Since we had made the food already, we settled for quickly eating it in my backyard. 1:40 - no rain, 2:00 - not a cloud in the sky. My bro was watching Fox news for weather. Figures. Anyway, the point of this post is to show you my creation.

Pineapple and Tuna salad ~<3

The tuna looks sloppy XD But both my cousin and I thought it was delicious~ Lettuce were just store packaged stuff. Tomatoes were from the farmer's market (Twice as expensive as from the store but what with the Salmonella mess and all, it's safer buying locally grown) Pineapples - canned. Tuna - canned and drained (that's why it looks all mushed up) For the dressing, it was a little bit of pineapple juice^^, a bit of this orange vinegar I found at Trader Joe's (damn thing smelled awful so I added very very little of it), and a bit of extra virgin olive oil. Give everything a good mix and voila! In the end, it needed a bit more flavoring. Maybe more of the vinegar would've been better XD

Lately, everything I post seems to be nothing short of mind corrupting, so let me take the opportunity to redeem myself by posting something educational XP

rukawagf let me translate one of her doujinshis and that is where I encountered this scene.

In the picture above, inside Tsu's thought bubble, he says 'hara ga tatsu' of Mukuro. This was the first time I encountered that phrase. Literally the phrase means:

Your stomach is standing up

...intersting no? Now now, no matter how strange nappo is, there's no way Tsu(our only voice of reason in said doujinshi) would be saying so incoherent like that, right? So I went and looked the phrase up. Turns out it really means:

You're getting offended

...lol

Hi guys, no I'm not done scanlating yet. Till death I will churn out doujins!! I just want to share two really good MukuTsuna videos from niconico with you. Actually that last line there, "furete, hoshii yo" can also translate to "I want to be touched emotionally", but since this is Mukuro we are talking about...touchy touch! fits better :D Now what makes this vid so great is when the song gets to the part about him deciding to go on a journey, Tsuna's coffin gets shown. Then right after that is Mukuro during "I'll wait for you no matter where you go" ;~; *sniff* that got me there. I think I need to cry in the corner now.

It's been a while since I did a 6927 doujinshi...
This one is from Pepushi. Now Pepu, though her art is beautiful, her stories are also wordy so it's very hard to understand what's going on if there's no scanslation^^ Hence I've chose Pepu even though there's a bunch of her doujinshis floating around.

I forgot to add that she's also quite...poetic so I can't say I've captured the translation perfectly :p
